Tribute to Alison McGlynn, 1968 - 2025

I had the honour of looking at Alison as my second mum. My fondest memories of my life come to Friday nights, mum and Alison upstairs talking and laughing the night away, while the four of us played hide and seek in the pitch black, manhunt, football on the back lane. Salt and vinegar twirls, and mini cans of sprite and Fanta. Alison was a giver, she’d give you anything she could, at anytime. One thing i will take through life with me and have done from Alison is to love. The love I received from Alison as a child and until we last saw each other was the warmest hug you could wish for. No matter how much time passed, from visit to visit, it was like a week had passed. That’s when you realise that certain people in your life are there for a reason. Lucy and Adam, your both a credit to your mum. I see her in both of you, so prominently, and I adore that, as it shows Alison will always live on. In every single person that has the pleasure of meeting her. Sleep tight Alison, thankyou for every moment you gave me, as they are now moments and memories I can look back on and take something from. 💜🦉

I only got to know you for four years, which have been the happiest of my life. You treated me like family and I always felt loved by you. You really did have the biggest heart. I always looked forward to seeing you and pebbles at the weekend, and chatting your head off while eating tea 🤣 We had some laughs, mostly at me being silly, and you taught me how to be confident and strong which I will carry with me forever. You gave me the best present of all, Lucy. She is so much like you, and I’m so proud and grateful for having to have known you x
